French energy giant TOTAL’s plans in Cyprus’ exclusive economic zone (EEZ) were discussed during a meeting President Nicos Anastasiades had with chairman and CEO of the company, Patrick Pouyanne, in Paris, on June 30. The President was in the French capital to attend the Pantheon burial of Simon Veil, Holocaust survivor and women’s rights icon who passed away a year ago at age 89.
Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou, who attended the meeting along with Energy Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, told the Cyprus News Agency that the company reaffirmed its interest in the Cyprus’ EEZ and its commitment to everything that has been agreed between the two sides so far.
