The Handshake with ICT, organized by the University of Nicosia in the last years (2013-2018), has become an institution with great success. It is noted that a total of more than 1,000 students, 60 teachers and more than 60 academics have participated, and this year's 5th Workshop, held in collaboration with the Association of Computer Teachers of Cyprus, hosted more than 150 high school students at the University's premises.
The aim of the workshop is to encourage young boys and girls aged 13-18, to apply their technological skills and explore their future professional choices, so that they can respond to the modern, complex and demanding working environment. The participants had the opportunity to explore the possibilities offered by ICTs and communications, to get acquainted with the academic curricula offered by the University of Nicosia in this field as well as the possibilities of selecting and combining programs to prepare for an innovative a career full of dynamic prospects. This year, for the first time, a special workshop was also organized for IT teachers. "In the last 15 minutes of this event, all of the people in the world have spent 200 man-years on Facebook, downloaded 6,000 apps on our mobile phones, made 30 million searches on Google, and 4 Terabyte data collected with important information on how our lives can be shaped. From the point of view of the School of Business Administration, we recognize that the subject is an extremely dynamic sector of the economy ", pointed out the Dean of the School, Professor Angeliki Kokkinaki.

In the first part of the workshop, special workshops took place on topics such as: "I Discover the Fantastic World of Animated Drawings" (Design and Multimedia Department), "I create my own Electronic Game Company" (Department of Management and Administrative Information Systems), "I Discover (Computer Science Department), "I Discover the World of Robotics" (Department of Engineering), "Mathematics and Technology for the Future" (Department of Informatics).
In the second part of the conference, at CINE STUDIO of the University, interesting presentations and speeches were made by the Chairman of the Association of Informatics Teachers, Peter Gai, Electronic Engineer of ENGINO, Alexis Kyriakou and CEO of ASCANIO ENTERTAINMENT, George Jazza, who focused on the five "secrets" for the success of a business, namely: 1) A true plan to achieve the goal; 2) The required timetable; 3) What should I do to achieve? 4) Good knowledge of competition, and 5) I have a winning mentality.
