Energy Minister Satisfied Over Cyprus Inclusion In Energy Networks Regulation

Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Natasa Pilides expressed her satisfaction for the inclusion of a nominal reference to Cyprus, which ensures its interconnection with the trans-European energy networks, in the relevant revision of the Regulation on energy networks.

The specific reference to the Trans-European Energy Networks Regulation, which has been the focus of discussions with the EU Hydrogen Strategy, provides Cyprus with access to future markets, such as hydrogen, through the stay and inclusion of existing Projects of Common Interest in the new EU catalogue for these projects. During her intervention at the Energy Council, held Friday in Luxembourg, the Minister of Energy thanked the Portuguese Presidency of the Council for the hard work it has done to reach agreement on the text of the revised Rules of Procedure.
