The announcement of the creation of MountMed – Institute for Research Experimentation and Development for the Mountains of the Mediterranean – in Cyprus coincides with World Mountain Day on December 11.
Although not yet fully operational, MountMed’s goal is the sustainable development of our country’s mountains. Its aim is to instigate research and innovation for the mountain regions of the Mediterranean islands as regards the environment, economy, demographics and culture.
