The best teacher of the world was declared this year Greek Cypriot Andria Zafirakou winning with the prize and a cash prize amounting to 1 million dollars.
Andria Zafirakou working at the Alperton Community School in Brent, United Kingdom, won the Varkey Foundation's Global Teacher Prize, set up in 2015 to promote the profession of teacher and encourage the best, was described as a "teacher and leader, who is guided by ethics and a passionate desire to give every student at her school the world. "
The judges approved it for the Varkey Foundation's annual World Teacher Award after hearing about how it goes with families in its different community.
