The new flair of the Guru Bar chain arrived last year on Finikoudes, only a short walking distance from the sea. In the mornings, you will be drawn in by the ambience which gives a modern ethnic tone, white and blue, as well as the irresistible aroma of Guru coffee blend. Selected coffee beans from Central and South America go through a rigorous process in Italy before ending in your cup. Up until noon time, you can order a “stack” of homemade biscuits and cheese pies. After that, there are fresh salads, hearty pasta dishes, gourmet sandwiches and meats, only to be topped by fantastic sugary offers like lemon mousse with sweet rose. One of Guru’s strong calling cards is music all the time, always. It starts in the morning with classical, moving to jazz around noon, and in the afternoon you can hear their popular lounge world sounds. After a short break with some deep house, music gets more upbeat and keeps rising through the night. DJ’s from all around the world join Guru’s decks and lay down their beat, at a point where you can see people in the streets joining the fun and dance. We cannot rule out that Guru’s amazing cocktails might have something to do with this scene, such as Gin’n’Roses, Pasha’s Ritual, and Saigon. But the honour naturally goes to the shisha nargile, the well known oriental tobacco pipe in a variety of flavours. Open Monday through Sunday from morning until late night.
