Cyprus remains a safe tourist destination
With an increase of 20% in tourist arrivals, Cyprus has maintained its reputation as a safe tourist destination and according to the International Tourism Organisation has the makings of an international tourist destination.
The results were presented by the Cyprus Hotel Association (CHA) in its annual report on Saturday
Generally speaking, international tourism has increased by 3.9% with 1.235 billion arrivals. In short, it means that in 2016, international tourism rose by 50 million arrivals generating some €1,076 trillion in revenue.
Europe, despite its fragile economy, marked a 2% (615 million) while the lion’s share of the 50 million additional tourists in 2016 went to Asia and the Pacific.
