Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism will Announce Final Version of National Tourism Strategy

Cyprus Deputy Minister for Tourism Savvas Perdios has said that the Deputy Ministry will soon announce the final version of the 2020 – 2030 National Tourism Strategy, the Cyprus News Agency reports.

Tourism is among the Government’s top priorities, Perdios underlined on Friday, speaking at an event of the Cyprus Hotels Association in Famagusta.

According to Perdios, for the years 2020 – 2021 the Deputy Ministry was planning to put emphasis on Cyprus’ connectivity, its branding which would be launched in Germany in March, the implementation of the regulatory framework and the purchase of an electronic platform that would help the Deputy Ministry and the hoteliers to evaluate the quality of services provided in each district, known as “on-line reputation management”.

The Deputy Ministry, he noted, along with hoteliers would seek to enrich the island’s tourism product in the next two years.

Among their goals, he added, was beach classification, the prohibition of alcohol in public spaces, to find solutions for noise pollution and to set up a tourist police unit.
