Celebrity British baker Paul Hollywood was in Paphos recently to film a segment of his upcoming TV show ‘A Baker’s Life’.
The star spent July 26 to August 1 in Cyprus, making his first stop at Paphos’ Annabelle Hotel where he had in the past spent five years as head baker, between 1994 and 1999.
‘The Great British Bake Off’ judge, 51, will be telling his life story through the new five-episode show.
Merseyside – native Hollywood began his career at his father’s bakery as a teenager and went on to serve as head baker at a number of hotels around Britain and internationally, including Cyprus, before becoming a TV star in the UK. As well as shooting at the Annabelle Hotel, the crew also followed Hollywood to the Kouklia home of the hotel’s chef Lygia Vassiliou where he learned to make traditional Cypriot baklava. The new show will also showcase Hollywood’s gastronomic encounters with the hotel’s current head baker Doros Nearchou.
