February 12, 2018

The Integrated Resorts Cyprus Consortium launched on Monday the official website of the City of Dreams Mediterranean casino resort, which is expected to be up and running in 2021.

The casino complex, which according to the consortium will be the largest integrated resort in Europe, ‘is set to enrich Cyprus’ tourism product, attracting an additional 300,000 tourists annually and contributing significantly to combating seasonality’.

The €550 million project is expected to create around 4,000 jobs annually during its construction period and will eventually contribute to the creation of approximately 6,500 direct, indirect and induced full-time jobs in Cyprus when the resort is fully operational.

A temporary casino will operate in Limassol until the casino resort being constructed in Zakaki is completed. The project also includes the operation of four satellite casinos in Nicosia, Larnaca, the free Famagusta area and Paphos.

Facilities will include 136 tables and 1,200 gaming machines, a five-star hotel with luxurious villas and 500 hotel rooms, 11 restaurants and cafeterias and 9,600 square metres of facilities for meetings, conventions, and events. It will also include a 1,200-sq. metre retail area, ‘replicating the streetscape of the old Nicosia city center’.

The resort, according to the consortium, is designed in the Mediterranean style, and will be built according to the principles of sustainable development and tailored to fit Cyprus’s natural environment and landscape.

The website, launched in Greek and English, provides information on the development, Cyprus and career opportunities.
